Congress 2014.png

The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Waters of past and present: shaping pathways for future management‘ and focused on decision making in times of uncertainty. This theme reflected the importance of accessing ancient knowledge, measured changes, current information and predicted scenarios in the management of our aquatic ecosystems for the future.

The theme was supported by the following symposia:

  1. Indigenous water knowledge

  2. Climate change and waterways

  3. Palaeolimnology for wetland management

  4. Adaption pathways

  5. Riparian vegetation

  6. Large rivers – a symposium in memory of Keith Walker

The organising committee also welcomed members to suggest and organise additional symposia (a minimum of five presentations were required for a symposium to be included).
