On behalf of the organising committee, we would like to thank who joined us in Sydney for the Australian Society for Limnology Conference (ASL 2017), which was held at the Aerial UTS Function Centre from 24 - 28 September 2017.

The theme of this year's conference was New Science for a Changing World. It was discussed how development, population growth, intensification of agriculture and climate change are affecting our waterways and wetlands as never before. At the same time, our science is giving us more understanding of these impacts. The conference showcased the latest aquatic science, to help us identify and mitigate impacts.

We hope you enjoyed the meeting and are looking forward to seeing you all in 2018!
